New Quilt

I started a quilt quite awhile ago.  I just finished free-motion quilting it recently.  It is now ready for the binding.  Here it is as it progressed.  The blocks were left over from another project.  The greens in these blocks just seemed to need to be together.  The rest of the blocks have been sewn together to make a king-size bed quilt.  After I get the binding finished on this one, I need to cut borders for the bed quilt.  I will have to send the bed quilt off to a long arm quilter.  This little quilt was about all I could handle as far as quilting because I could barely fit all that fabric under my needle.  The machine is too small to fit a huge quilt into. I took an online free-motion quilting class from Craftsy.  I practiced on lots of scrap quilt sandwiches before tackling this quilt.

This is the scrappy back for the Sunshine Quilt

Quilted - finally.  It took TONS of thread and many hours to finish!.

It turned out awesome! I love the swirling pattern you used. I still need to get a free-motion foot. I've been wanting to try it. I guess I'll save my $$.

Thanks Beck. A free motion foot is also sometimes called a darning foot. They aren't as expensive as a walking foot.

Are the flowers aplique?

Yes, Marilyn. The "sunshine" blocks in the upper corners are too. Made with hexagon shapes.
