Dare We Hope? The Storm Has Passed

As I write this, the worst seems to be over.  Ken has gone to find a gas station to fill our 5 gal. gas cans and then he's going in to work.  He missed 3 days of work this week, which comes off of his vacation time.  All of the schools are still closed in our (Snohomish) county as well as King county (Seattle).  We lost power again around 9:00 p.m. last night and it didn't come back on till this morning around 7:00 a.m.  Our trusty generator ran all night.  Our power was out all day yesterday except for a couple of hours in the evening.  We were without TV, phone or Internet service all day yesterday.  I guess that's what happens when all services are bundled into one plan.

We're fine though, as we were prepared.  The news is full of stories of thousands of homes without power and people filling warming stations when their home/apartments get too cold because of the power outage.

This is one storm we won't soon forget.  The temps are rising and now we're going to have to deal with all that snow melting and creating flood conditions.  Plus it's supposed to start raining and raining and raining through next week.

Here are a few final pictures of the winter storm of 2012.
