Snow - What Else?

We're still snowed in.  An ice storm is pummeling the Puget Sound but we are still getting snow.  Our snow is going to turn to freezing rain also later in the day.

Ken is home for the 3rd day.  He brushed off his van and loosened the frozen slider door last night.  But this morning he heard the ice storm warning and decided it wasn't worth chancing going out and called his riders.  He came in and emailed his boss.  He doesn't think that too many people are at work today.

His boss just emailed from home, he didn't make it in either.

Our greatest entertainment these past few days has been watching the weather reports and flight cancellations.  We are feeling very smug that we are safe at home here and happy that we aren't some poor travelers trying to get from Point A to Point B.

Oh, one good thing about all that shoveling. ...  Ken and I earned tons of activity points that we could swap for food if we want. (We are Weight Watcher members and tracking our food, FYI.)

Here are some pictures that I took yesterday, and some from the day before. (Tues. January 17, 2012, and Wed. January 18.)

Ken's Van Pool van waiting to be cleared of snow.

This is what we call a "sun break" here in the Pacific Northwest.

The mail has been delivered during the storm, but the garbage men didn't make it.

Our street looking north, before the plow came.

Our street looking south.  We live on a dead-end street.

Our driveway is nearly 1/10th of a mile long.

Our generator, which ran for over 5 hours yesterday.

Ken is REALLY TIRED of shoveling snow.

Our indoor cat.  I wonder if she is thinking that she's glad to be in here and not out there.
Ken and I are beginning to feel as if we are in the movie "Groundhog Day".

Oh my...you guys have really been hit hard by this storm. Love the "sun break" picture and the one from a post ago that says..."I especially like this one"! Snow does make for some beautiful photographs.
Glad you have been able to stay in safe and sound!

Wow that looks terrible. We have yet to have any real snow here in Topeka. We had one night with a dusting and some frozen glaze on the roads, but that is it. You guys can keep it all out there if it were up to me! :)
