A long time ago, when my boys were Cub Scouts, one of their projects was making a Nativity set from plaster of Paris. Here is one of the sets. These have the initials "B.O." in pencil on the bottoms of each one.
What sweet memories. If you look closely at the camel, the head has been re-attached. I remember that the camels never could be removed from the rubber mold without the heads breaking off no matter how hard we tried.

Oh this blog made me chuckle.
These pieces are so precious and are really Christmas, aren't they.
Dennis bought me a nativity, all white bisque pieces in Mendicino, Ca for an aniversary. We proudly displayed it every year. One year Suzie hit the table it was on with the vacuum and all the pieces fell and some had to be glued and others just displayed in "another" way. Then Scottie was putting on his coat and did the coat swing just a little too close and guess what, yep, out with the glue. This time a camel lost his head. I love to look now at the shepard with the gapping hole in his back and the camel with the not so hot glue job. Those memories mean more to me than the set does. It almost is representative of the atonement to me. We can be a little scared up but will look better later, much later!
Thanks for this blog. We love you both
Yes, fond memories of arranging and rearranging those little figures when I was a kid. I don't remember that wooden stable. Is that something you added recently?
Yes, I bought the stable here in Marysville at a craft store, as it was on sale. It fits the plaster Nativity set and another little Nativity set that I bought in Utah at the Seagull Bookstore. I don't remember if it was in Salt Lake or Springville that I got it. I'll take a picture of that one too and put it on the blog.
