Rain Gutters

When we built our home in Reno, we had to purchase the rain gutters, as they weren't included with the house.  It doesn't rain much there.  Now fast forward a few years.  Rain gutters are a necessity here.  It doesn't often rain very hard but occasionally there is a deluge.  We had one the other night.  Our front gutter was overflowing the edge like a waterfall.  It poured down on my flower bed and washed a lot of the soil onto the cement porch.
Today, it is sunny but cool and Ken has gotten out the ladder and has gone around the whole outside of the house cleaning out the gutters.  I'm really glad for a one story home so he doesn't have to get up any higher to clean them out.  I went out to take a picture to post here and nearly got hit with the goop he threw down just as I was coming out.  Yuck.  Here he is hard at work.
Hopefully the next hard rain will go down the spouts and not over the edge!

I love your quilted runner. Beautiful. I look at the quilt you made for us and am thankful for you both.

Thanks. I'm working on a little quilt right now with the cross stitch Christmas angel as the center. I'm using scraps from the table runner to make the wreath part.

I can relate to the gutter problem. Dustin and I were just noticing how full of leaves ours are. He was contemplating how he was going to get up on our steep two story roof to clean them out.

That is a lot of rain! We still don't have gutters on our house. I miss the rain though sometimes.
