We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner. Since there is only the 2 of us, we decided not to go with the traditional turkey. I roasted a 6+ pound chicken. Ken made his mom's wild rice stuffing on Wednesday night that went into the bird. Also, ahead of time, I made my rolls and 2 pumpkin chiffon pies.
Preparing some of the items ahead of time made for an easier day yesterday. Along with the above mentioned food, we had green beans a tossed salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce and canned yams (for me, as Ken won't eat them).
We used our china and set the dining room table. Ken took some pictures of the feast.
After washing the dishes by hand, (as you'll recall my dishwasher is on the fritz), we went to see the new Muppet movie. It was cute. We then came home and had pie, as we had been too full after our sumptuous dinner to eat it after we ate.
All in all, it was a good day. We hope that each of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well.

Sandy always puts on a wonderful spread. I helped a little but she made the rolls that are "to die for".
Wonderful job Sandy!
Looks yummy! I feel like I finally came close to recreating one of your home cooked "meat and potatoes" meals this Thanksgiving. Dustin was in charge of our Turkey, but I am the side dish lady. My rolls weren't quite as puffy as yours, but still tasted delicious. I guess I will let them rise just a little more next time. Thanks for sending the recipe!
Mmmmm! Crescent rolls! Uh oh...we better change the name to something else. We don't want to offend any sensible "Religion of Peace (or is that Pieces)®" Muslims, do we? :)
